QUICK & EASY PAN-FRIED LAMB CHOPS & BEEF STEAK

SIMPLY DELICIOUS PAN FRIED BEEF STEAK
         

        My quick &  easy cooking for these meat dish.  Not exactly the dish you always enjoy at restaurant outlets, I made this the simple way I prefer without any sauce just plain. Just another option if you feel like eating homemade steaks or lamb chops. Frankly,  we like it this way.... taste great and yum..my...li..cious doesn't need lots of ingredients fairly simple. Faree smiled emmm....♥ it, a steak menu for the day.



PAN FRIED BEEF STEAK



            I made two different  kind of meat, my hubby prefer beef, Faree and me love lamb chops. It's easy to cook anyone can try this simple steps you will like it too. Add any of your favourites vege carrot or broccoli, for me I like potatoes simply delicious. If you like add a little crushed black peppercorns, mix herbs rosemary, thyme and lemon juice (I didn't add) I used ready mix seasoning (from Giant JB) so no salt required.






             This week exam just ended, now looking forward to school holiday this June both Fara and Ein just as excited!! may spend sometime out of Singapore this holiday. Ok that's it for now we meet again and thanks to all visitors. Have a nice day :)

                Kali ini masak lamb chop dan steak yang cepat dan mudah, taklah sama macam yang ada di restoran masak ikut citarasa sendiri. Kurang minat yang ada bersos, goreng biasa biasa saja, nak share pada yang suka makan daging steak ke!! atau lamb chop, cuba buat di rumah pasti puas hati. Faree suka sangat .... tak tolak !?/? except my other two kids.... tengok pun tak nak!!

                Masakan barat ini, tak guna banyak bahan, pakai 'Steak Seasoning dari Giant' (halal) jumpa kat JB he...he.. Kalau suka lebih black pepper boleh tambah tak payah garam ....perfect betul!! Sengaja masak dua macam daging sebab ada suka lembu... ada suka kambing .... 'jadi tak complain'....senyap je makan bila tanya tak sedap ke!!...oh tengah enjoy makan...tak boleh cakap...'it just make me happy' they like it!! .... :)??

HOMEMADE NYONYA LAKSA

                   
MY SIMPLE STEPS MAKING NYONYA LAKSA


                  One of my youtube viewer made a request a few weeks ago for this dish, at last I did cooked this last week. There's not much time for me to upload and update on my blog so I have to fit bits and pieces at my own pace. This noodle dish or we call it Nyonya Laksa or laksa curry lemak is a popular peranakan dish especially here in Singapore and Malaysia.


MY NYONYA LAKSA .....A TASTE OF SINGAPORE'


           It's my version not perfectly like the peranakan's way, did a few short cuts taste simply delicious. The peranakans are real hardworking people, they made their dishes from scratch and I envy that. I love to watch their cooking shows, it's very interesting and lots of info gained watching them. Talking about that I remenber I luv' watching the Singapore drama serials "The Little Nyonya" it's so popular I think a few years back, it was quite a 'Hit" here in Singapore......No worries I read subtitles....haha..





                     
                    For laksa dish the main important ingredient is to have a the right 'rempah' mixture and a good stock such as prawn or just fish you can also  opt for chicken stock.... taste good too!! Mine not exactly like the original but it's ok suit my taste...I like it. I can't do the exact peranakan's way their's is too perfect, oh well!! mine is just an improved version 'malay style'

                      I  had cooked this laksa quite a number of times, it's really 'easy peasy' anyway we did enjoyed having it since the last time we had homemade. The sweetness and spicyness of the dish just right for me and the extra laksa sambal was just savoury and flavourful . Last of all the laksa leaves  is a must for this noodle dish, it's aromatic and enhance the flavours in the nyonya laksa.

                     The first time I had the taste of laksa made by my sis in law Zubedah, during our hari raya visits. I can say she's an excellent home chef and we enjoyed all her wonderful dishes. She shared her simple tips cooking the laksa dish, I just want to say thank you for sharing. Her laksa was simple non spicy served with her special sambal and simply delicious. All of us do enjoy having laksa but not as often. LAKSA NYONYA .....RASA SINGAPURA


                     Macam mana nak start my little karangan, memang forever teruk. My bahasa melayu cukup makan saja. Itulah problem bahasa dah what we call 'rojak'.  Minggu lepas sempat juga buat laksa nyonya dah lama juga tak buat, syok!! makan. Laksa Nyonya masakan yang popular dari Baba dan Nyonya. Sebagai peminat setia masakan peranakan suka sekali tonton cooking show peranakan  'always favorit' paling  gemar cerita 'The Little Nyonya" sangat popular dah lama drama peranakan ditayang di Singapura dan Malaysia nostalgic betul!!.....baca sarikata hehe..



LAKSA CURRY LEMAK


                      Pertama kali pernah rasa laksa dibuat oleh my Sis in law Zubedah, masa hari raya syokk!! sedapp tak sama yang pernah makan dimana mana. Laksanya sangat simple tapi 'power' hanya guna ikan tengiri dan fishball saja. Terima kasih to my dearest Sis Eda yang ikhlas sudi kongsi tips buat laksa ni. Laksa Nyonya ini versi sendiri, adjust ikut citarasa sendiri tak sama dengan laksa peranakan. Ada buat short cut tak mampu ikut exactly macam peranakan style. Kalau hendak lebih sedap guna stock udang atau stock ayam pun ok. Dah buat laksa ini banyak kali, senang dan sedap lagi lagi kalau dah lama tak makan.

                     Sepatutnya nak upload minggu lalu ada banyak hal nak settle jadi tangguh sebab lama tak kunjung my sis & mum place kita 'try squeeze' walaupun se kejap. Sekarang term exam terpaksa 'press them to study'. COOKING A QUICK & EASY SWEET SOYA SAUCE CHICKEN (AYAM MASAK KICAP)

                     Just to include this simple dish Sweet Soya Sauce Chicken in my channel, I had upload a couple of times. The main reason the old videos quality is not that good. I hope the latest upload will help my dear viewers follow easily with the steps shown. I didn't add fried potatoes, when I shopped for groceries there's lot of stuff to carry so I drop the idea. Well, it's ok you can add them if you like. A simple dish, easy to cook any teenager can try out this dish, it's not spicy and  quite suitable for kids too.


A SIMPLE DISH .........SWEET SOYA SAUCE CHICKEN

                  I add mix spices in this dish, it's 'optional' taste quite good even without those spices. As always, I will cook this if it's been quite a while you will certainly like it.          Masakan Ayam Masak Kicap pernah upload beberapa kali, video kurang memuaskan sebab itu buat upload yang baru. Mudah mudahan senang bagi rujukan yang baru nak start belajar masakan yang simple. Kalau suka boleh tambah kentang goreng, kali ni tak sempat nak buat beli banyak barang tak larat nak angkat sendiri. Masakan paling mudah, kalau new starter boleh cuba masakan simple ni.

               I don't know this time round non stop cooking seafood dishes, it's my fault I grab 'em all  at once at the mart. I made myself a little hardworking and stationed myself in kitchen .....most of my free time, I mean my off days........serve me right!!  hi..hi....  Well sometimes your hands work faster than your mind. How I wish I can be better in my grocery planning. It's something that bother you, if you let it go to waste . Anyway, I manage to solve my little issue, we enjoy the dishes and glad it turn out ok.


SPICY CUTTLEFISH.....IT'S JUST DELISH!!

            At times my mind goes blank ?$!?*.......I have no idea what to cook, I too, have my 'lazy' days.What I will usually say "Kids mum's not cooking give me your orders". No problem, they understand that I probably too tired and all depend on my moods. I made this stir fried cuttlefish this week not bad, we had with plain rice, most singaporean love spicyness in most of their dishes including this one. I add basic spices to the cuttlefish, I like it and the rest my family luv it too. Here my upload video hope you like it too, we meet another time with a new video. Have a wonderful day ahead.







          Minggu ni terlebih rajin, tak tau bila lihat ada macam macam kat seafood corner 'tempted" sebab fresh sangat. Hari tu rasa macam tak nak masak sebab banyak nak 'handle' bila dah siap semua seafood pack masuk freezer. Time tu terlebih rajin sebab tak mau simpan bahan seafood lama masak jugalah hari tu. Masak sotong berempah, cepat dan tak makan masa dah siap makan malam jadi settled yang lain masak esok. Bila dah penat belanja malas nak start, masakan ini ringkas tak menyusahkan dan sedap so..... No hal!!

          Ada kala jammed jugak kat kepala nak menu apa ha!! ....'ini hari malas dah datang'...tak pe.

"IRRESISTABLE FINGER - LICKING GOOD!! SCRUMPTIOUS FRIED CRABS"

             A savoury, flavourful and literally finger licking good we luv having. It's one of those meals that makes you enjoyed because it's so good that you can't stop eating it and  you can't help but reach for more. Everyone's favourite .......and it's fried crabs yum.!!..yum..!!...yummy.


FLAVOURFUL &  DE.. LI...CIOUS FRIED CRABS

            I marinated earlier not sure if I should fry it cause we had a full dinner earlier.  However, I end up frying them two hours later....my dearest hubby and Faree joined in can't resist the temptations,  we chat and laugh. Whatelse!!... Our conversation, were about Crabs, crabs and crabs.




            Ein & Fara didn't show any interest at all, Ah....well!!  I think they are not ready for it yet. They dislike the smell, I light a few scented candles  to absorb the lingering frying odors and it's the best solution.  Well sometimes it's unavoidable when you have cook  especially when you need to fry. My home ventilation is great  as our hall & dinning area quite spacious with wide windows and quite windy. When I have to cook such dish, I light up a few scented candles and choose  my regular favourite fragrance.

            I think it's been far too long since I had crabs in our menu. I rather eat crabs at home than restaurants or seafood outlet. A bit of preparations when making, but that don't bother me when you're drooling for it. Firstly it's cheaper homemade,  hygiene no worries and best of all you can cook whichever way you like.  Chillie crabs and black pepper crabs are the most popular dishes in Singapore.

              As for me, I have always prefer fried ones.  In Singapore the most popular crab dishes are chillie crabs and in black pepper too. At this moment, I'm at Terminal 2 lunch time writing this draft in my blog. It's kind of my little habit, multi tasking and tuning to Warna 94.2 ...laughed, enjoyed TG chatting with callers just to pass my lunch time the fun way as I don't like when my mind goes blank!!.              Salam semua, kali ini share ketam goreng berempah yang tak pedas tetap menjilat jari.  Buat ketam ini cara goreng sebab dah lama tak makan.  Pada mula tak sure nak masak atau simpan esok sebab dah makan malam kenyang sekali.  Ketam  dah perap dengan rempah .....Aai!! ..  goreng sajalah!!

               Kalau tidak suka rempah tak payah letak pun syok!! juga. Kalau suka yang pedas tambah cili kisar atau cili powder. Dah ......Siap!!...... "Bestnya ketam goreng" ....Faree  and my dearest hubby tak tolak.....apa lagi gelak2 sambil makan. Bab time makankah paling seronok tak payah dijemput yang Si manja berdua tak kisah sebab tak gemar sangat.  Kalau masak goreng goreng mesti pasang 'scented candles' nak hilang udara yang kurang nyaman , 'effective' dah tak kena 'complain' dengan little princess Fara . *ALL TIME FAVOURITE* AYAM MASAK MERAH (CHICKEN IN SPICY TOMATO GRAVY)

            Ayam masak merah a very popular dish serve at weddings or any occasions. Although I had sometimes tried these dishes at a few weddings, but it's always not as perfect if it's home made. The main reason could have been a mass cooking so it's taste is just so so. Once I had a dinner invitation at one of my hari raya visits at my dear old friend home, thanks Suriani, the dish I had was perfect ...I like it !!! taste yum...my ..li..cious that was many years back just that one time. Most of the nasi padang stalls that I tried so far, I fair as average.





              It's common to cook ayam masak merah by adding tomato puree to the dish, which I sometimes did. It's  optional this one I making I just add chillie sauce and tomato ketchup taste just as good. Once I cooked this at my sis place a last minute thing, I add fried potato wedges. My dearest brother Rahman drop by and we had a simple dinner together it's great as we seldom meet. I think he like it and ask about this dish. Here I upload my simple steps, it's optional if you like to add additional fried potatoes, tomatoes, slice onions  and green peas. I don't like peas but I like stir-fry tiny french beans he...he.... not related at all.





              Since I had not cook this for quite a while, as it's Faree's favourite dish she's more than pleased to see the menu for the day. Basically I cook this dish based on instinct, made a little improvement so far my family luv' it and the whole serving plate completely finish.  Here I'm sharing  making it the simple way.                   Ayam masak merah selalu dihidang dimajlis perkahwinan atau apa apa majlis keluarga...  popular sangat. Dari pengalaman makan di rumah pengantin taklah sesedap masak di rumah, mungkin masak dalam kuantiti yang besar agaknya. Kalau masak sedap sangat teruklah tukang masak dan tuan rumah lauk habis cepat... dah patut pun!! kelakar ke...he.. he...sori just kidding!! Suriani, my old kawan rapat pandai masak lauk ini sedapp sekali ...tapi dapat rasa sekali saja time tu hari raya ....terima kasih Su. Kalau dari gerai nasi padang, belum ada yang sedap sangat  biasa biasa saja.

               Masakan ayam masak merah ini selalunya dimasak dengan tomato puree  ada juga kadang kadang guna untuk masakan. Kali ini tak guna .....masak dengan cili dan tomato sos ok dan rasa pun lebih sedap. Sewaktu itu pernah masak kat rumah Kak Long memang tak plan, seronok sekali my big brother Rahman datang sekeluarga dapat makan malam yang ringkas dan simple. Rasa my abang suka sekali makan ayam masak merah berkentang goreng, tanya macam mana nak buat. Khas untuk my dearest brother ... Hope you like it with this video upload!! Kalau suka lauk ayam ini boleh tambah kentang goreng, bawang hiris dan kacang peas ( Peas!!! my guess?? eh!!....untuk masakan nampak menarik .... for me  sebab tak suka green peas tak letaklah).



               Faree ..."Wow!! Mama, Thank you!!!! masak Ayam masak merah".... licin habis... lapar agaknya. A TASTE OF MY HOMEMADE KUIH BAKAR PANDAN

        This post edited a few weeks back though I had myself fully occupied & real busy with lots of learning. Sometime in March, I manage to get myself a  Mac. My existing laptop had for years still doing  fine except got to replace the battery as the battery lifespan ended few months back. But I' m still using it, in the begining it was tough understanding MacBook total functions differ from our normal laptop.Though I've got the programmes installed I can't get my external drive, samsung phone to import all the stuff I want. A little frustrating but glad it's over picking up slowly Alhamdullilah. Here I like to extend my sincere thanks to the staff@ Mac book Azilah for giving me an "crash course" and getting my external drive to work.


BAKED PANDAN CAKE



MY CRUSTED PANDAN CAKE.... NOT PRETTY BUT A HIT WITH MY KIDS

       Glad everything fine now, but really occupied with too much things to do, emm....daily housework thought taking a short break from blogging  well see how it goes!!!.    For now I like to share  my simple steps in making this an old time favourite malay traditional cake called "Kuih Bakar Pandan" or you can call it "Baked Screwpines leaves cake". My kids liked the wonderful taste and the fragrant pandan.  I prefer to add just one egg instead of two or three as sometimes the aftertaste not to my liking. As  for me, I ever ate this!! -what a waste didn't finish at all.





         I baked about an hour, my  kids prefer it without crust . If you like it crusted baked between 180 to  200ยบ C  that too depends on your oven heat. It's best check to avoid getting it  get burn. I used my smaller oven for the crust for it baked quite evenly. During  old days, real hard work baking this needs lots of patience. If I can remember well, this kuih baked outside their homes in a special moulds really nice!! I think they used charcoal and coconut husk to bake. The mould comes with a metal lid had quite a weight and it taste really good. For me I give up!!  It's fine ....baking in my oven taste quite okay. Sometimes I admire those who really make this from scratch!! Here is my update hopefully meet again soon with another video clip...Enjoy your day ahead and thanks for visiting**

A STORMY MORNING TO WORK......VISION REALLY BAD

          Salam sejahtera semua, macam2 nak buat ....sibuk selalu@ atau act sibuk he... he...!! Alhamdullihah oklah juga dah setttle masalah laptop. Kali ini nak kongsi buat kuih pandan bakar tak lah pakar buat kuih.. ... bolehlah untuk makan sendiri nak beli jaranglah jumpa di Singapura. Kalau ada pun kadang kadang tak sedap sangat sebab tak guna daun pandan tapi pandan paste rasa beza . Kuih ini tak susah kalau tahu agak rasa manis dan adunan jangan pekat sangat ....pasti jadi dan tentu lembut. Masa buat kuih ini sengaja kurangkan telur sebab hanya guna satu biji bukan lokek!! tapi rasanya kalau banyak telur rasa lainlah.....macam tak syok.....hai ikut citarasa sendiri....

             Tak larat nak buat cara traditional bakar pakai arang... ovenkan ada ... kita shortcut sajalah. Pasti bahan utama mesti ada bukan "fusion" sangat.
