Mee Hongkong onion paste **
Ingredients: blend & saute for 10 mins 2 onions or 20 shallots 8 garlic 4cm ginger 4 candlenuts 1 - 2 tbsp white peppercorns 1 cup oil Mee Hongkong Ingredients: Yellow noodles Chye Sim 1 - 2 tbsp mee Hongkong onion paste or 1 tbsp minced garlic 1 tbsp white pepper powder 1 tsp black pepper powder Celery leaves Beef / Mutton Prawns Squid, fish cake & quail eggs Cornstarch mixture (1 tbsp corn flour with 1/4 cup water) 1 tsp sesame oil (optional) Marinate : Beef 1/2 tsp ground black pepper 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp fish sauce Pickled Chillies: Red & green chillies 1/4 cup hot water 3 tbsp sugar 4 tbsp white vinegar 1/4 tsp salt Mee Hongkong Kuah (with gravy) Ingredients: Beef / mutton 1 - 2 tbsp mee Hongkong onion paste or 1 tbsp minced garlic Prawns Squids Beef stock / water 1 tbsp oyster sauce 2 tsp sugar 1 beef cube 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp white pepper powder 1 tsp black pepper powder Cornstarch mixture (1 tbsp corn flour with 1/4 cup water) Yellow noodle or Kway teow noodle Chye sim (sawi) Red / Green chillies / Bird eyes chillies
